T20 CRICKET HISTORY

 INITIATIVE:

T20 cricket is a short format of a cricket. it was created by the England and Wales Cricket Board in 2003 for the inter county Tournament.

SYSTEM OF PLAYING:

In a T20 game, there two teams have a single innings each team.it is a 20 over games. first-class and other tournament maintain it,  Now three current forms of cricket established by the International Cricket Council (ICC) T20 is one of them also it is one of the best popular game in the world.

PLAY TIME:

As usual T20 game is ended about three hours, each innings lasting around 90 minutes and an have official 10 minutes break between the two innings.It is much shorter than previous verson of the game, and is spend less time of other popular team sports.

POPULARITY:

This game day by day is spreading around the cricket world.most of the international tours there is at least one T20 match and also all Test-playing nations has a domestic cup tournament. Last winner team in T20 world cup is West Indies,They win the 2016 world cup.

Stuart Robertson PROPOSAL:

Ended Benson & Hedges Cup in 2002, the ECB needed other one day competition to fill replace its. ICC were looking to increase the game's popularity with the new generation in response to huge crowds and abate sponsorship.

The marketing manager of the ECB Stuart Robertson, proposed a 20 over every innings game to country chairmen in 2001 and they take decision by vote where get 11–7 vote in favour of adopting the new format.

OFFICIAL T20 MATCH:

13 June 2003 ,officially first T20 matches were played between the English counties in the Twenty20 Cup.The first season of T20 in England was a  success,there Surrey Lions defeating the Warwickshire Bears by 9 wickets in the final.

FIRST T20 MATCH:

15 July 2004 first time T20 match held at Lord's, there are played held between Middlesex and Surrey team.It was a very contesting match.

T20 leagues:

Several T20 leagues started after the popularity of the 2007 ICC World Twenty20.The Board of Control for Cricket in India started the Indian Premier League in 2008, which maintain the system of American  franchise there eight teams in major Indian markets, and is currently in its twelfth season of competition.

The Big Bash League, Bangladesh Premier League, Pakistan Super League, and Caribbean Premier League started thereafter, following similar formulae, and remained popular with the fans.

First time The Women's Big Bash League was began in 2015.It was organized by Cricket Australia, while the Kia Super League was started in England and Wales in 2016.

WOMEN FIRST INTERNATIONAL T20 MATCH:

The first Twenty20 International women match was held on 5 August 2004 between England and New Zealand women's teams with New Zealand winning by nine runs.

MAN FIRST INTERNATIONAL T20 MATCH:

On 17 February 2005,Australia man team defeated New Zealand man team in the first men's international Twenty20 match, They played at Eden Park in Auckland.

T20 MATCH IN ENGLAND:

The first Twenty20 international match in England was held  between England and Australia at the Rose Bowl in Hampshire on 13 June 2005, They win by 100 runs,also it was a record which lasted until 2007.

AUSTRALIA VS SOUTH AFRICA:

On 9 January 2006, Australia team and South Africa team face in the first international Twenty20 game in Australia.The international match drew a crowd of 38,894 people at The Gabba.many people are excited to see something new attraction.

NEW ZEALAND VS WEST INDIES:

On 16 February 2006 ,performing New Zealand team defeated West Indies in a tie breaking bowl out 3–0, 126 runs were scored apiece in the game proper. This game was the last international match for Chris Cairns.

T20 WORLD CUP:

Every two years an ICC World Twenty20 tournament is to take place, except in the event of an ICC Cricket World Cup being scheduled in the same year, in which case it will be held the year before.

FIRST T20 WORLD CUP:

First T20 world cup was held in 2007 in South Africa where India defeated Pakistan in the final. Two Associate teams had played in the first tournament, selected through the 2007 ICC World Cricket League Division One, a 50-over competition. In December 2007 it was decided to hold a qualifying tournament with a 20-over format to better prepare the teams. With six participants, two would qualify for the 2009 World Twenty20 and would each receive $250,000 in prize money.

SECOND T20 WORLD CUP:

Second T20 world cup was won by Pakistan who beat Sri Lanka by 8 wickets in England,It was held on 21 June 2009.

THIRD T20 WORLD CUP:

 ICC World T20 world cup  2010 was held in  West Indies in May 2010, This tournament winner team is England and runners up team is Australia.England win the match by 7 wickets.

FOURTH T20 WORLD CUP:

The 2012 ICC World Twenty20 was won by the West Indies, by defeating Sri Lanka at the finals.first time T20 world cup was held in Asia.It is was a historical moment.

FIFTH T20 WORLD CUP:

2014 ICC World Twenty20 was won by Sri Lanka, they defeating India at the finals, This tournament was held in Bangladesh.

 

SIXTH T20 WORLD CUP:

ICC World Twenty20 2016   winner team is West-Indies.it was a memorable day for West Indies cricket team.
